I don't consider cleats as "go fast" gear....I consider them as safety gear. I've observed several persons fall and drop guns or slip and slide carrying hiking sneakers when it wouldn't materialize when they had been sporting cleats. the sole time I'v viewed them be considered a downside was on stairs, platforms etcetera that do not have carpet on
